Welp.

There have been a few COVID cases at work, all at the other building. I have to go over there semi-regularly but only for very short periods and not in quite the same areas as our infected. As such, I've been careful but not especially concerned.

I've just seen the news about RBG and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't freaking out a little. I know it's important to remain calm and steady but... Idk, maybe tomorrow. I need time to acknowledge and accept how bleak the possibilities are now, I think.

So, a short chunk ago, I purchased a cute potted Christmas tree. Very full and fluffy-looking little affair. There's been a lot of rain recently and so I put it outside to enjoy that. Stuck it over with the now barren pots of our summer plants, where I knew it would get good exposure but still be out of the way.

GUESS WHAT ISN'T THERE ANYMORE?

The realization that something you used to love and look forward to is no longer worth the disappointment it brings can be both freeing and deeply saddening. The latter more than the former, perhaps.
